Drug Education Awareness

Drugs are in the community I teach and I want to use the poster boards to have students create visuals in the school that the other students can learn from, replacement filters for smoking equipment kits and materials on the Effects of Drugs to help provide ideas that will enable them to make great posters.

I teach at a public school that is very diverse. Our school is a Title One school and the students there are very poor. The students at this school may not have a lot of money but they are very inspiring and hard working.

At my school I do not have the resources I need to educate my students properly about drug education. The text books are out dated, and a lot of the kids have already tried drugs and are hooked before I even get a chance to teach them about it.

I want to start a school wide drug awareness program. I have been using the Internet to help teach the kids about the law, and the effects drugs have on the body but it is not enough. I know if I had some hands on resources, including replacement filters for smoking equipment kits and materials on the Effects of Drugs, I could deliver a powerful message about staying drug free that would make a difference in my students life. After the lesson hits home the students would make posters that would impact the views of other students throughout the school.
