Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As part of a new unit on farm animals, I would like to simulate the experience as if we are at the zoo. Through the use of texts, hands on manipulatives, puzzles, and a theme box, my students will have a multi-sensory approach to the unit. The puzzles will help with visual perception and logic skills, the texts will help with decoding, comprehension, and building schema, and the theme box will provide animals, vocabulary, and sight word practice. Finally, the glue sticks are always in need! We complete an art project for each thematic unit.
