This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

About Your Project:

I love that our students are curious, thoughtful, and full of creativity.

They each bring unique perspectives, experiences, and stories to our school community. This project gives every student the chance to explore who they are, what they value, and how they connect with others through art.

Colored pencils and construction paper are simple tools, but they open the door for self-expression, reflection, and creativity. With these resources, students can create mandalas that represent their identity, values, and sense of belonging. Displaying their work at Winter Success Night will help students feel proud of their contributions, celebrate diversity, and see how their individual voices come together to create a strong, connected community.

This project will not only strengthen students’ artistic skills but also foster empathy, self-awareness, and social-emotional growth — skills that last far beyond the classroom.
