Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students at FES are some of the most humble, grateful students I know. For many, my classroom is their first experience in a school setting. Dramatic play can often be overlooked as a "non-core" subject, and is the first to be cut in order to make room for academics like reading and math. However, since many of my students do not attend preschool, they have missed out on the opportunity to engage in dramatic play--a vital component of early childhood development. It helps create real social situations that build empathy, creativity, and help foster friendships. Students at this age learn so much through play, and deserve to be given an environment to foster this process.

My wish list contains items such as play food, dishes, and dolls.

All of the items on my wish list are items that we either do not currently have, or are in desperate need of a replacement. By donating to this fund, you will be providing students with problem-solving skills, creative outlets, and endless amounts of joy for years to come.
