Your donation has brought tremendous excitement and learning opportunities to my kindergarten students. Each week, we now do STEAM centers where students rotate through different groups to explore the materials. From magnetic tiles to rods and suction builders, each station offers hands-on opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and discovery. When I first revealed the materials, the room immediately filled with clapping, cheering, and pure joy! \r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful experiences has been partnering with a third-grade class for a \"Big Buddies\" learning time, where both grade levels work together using these STEM materials. This collaboration has quickly become the highlight of my students' week. I get to watch my kindergarteners communicate, think through ideas, build structures, experiment with balance and design, and strengthen both math and science skills—all with the guidance and encouragement of their older buddies. Their curiosity has grown, their confidence has blossomed, and their ability to work collaboratively has been incredible to witness.\r\n\r\nMy students and I are deeply grateful for your kindness and support. These materials have transformed our learning environment and helped create joyful, meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that my students look forward to every week. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of Scholastic Storyworks to my 5th grade classroom. Your support has had an immediate and profound impact on my students, and I wanted to take a moment to share the difference you are making in their lives.\r\n\r\nScholastic Storyworks has quickly become a vital part of our classroom learning. The diverse range of stories, articles, and activities has sparked a new level of excitement for reading among my students. They are engaging with texts in a way that challenges their thinking, encourages creativity, and fosters a deeper understanding of the world around them. The materials allow me to meet the varying needs of my students, whether they are struggling readers or advanced learners. Every child is able to connect with the content and grow at their own pace.\r\n\r\nWhat has been especially meaningful is seeing the discussions that emerge after we dive into a Storyworks article. My students are thinking critically, sharing their ideas with confidence, and learning to respect and understand perspectives that are different from their own. The captivating stories and thought-provoking nonfiction pieces have become the foundation for so many valuable lessons, not just in literacy, but in empathy, teamwork, and perseverance.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has also helped my students develop their writing skills, as they are now more eager to respond to what they read. Storyworks provides rich opportunities for them to explore writing through prompts and activities that are both fun and educational. It has made a noticeable difference in their ability to express themselves clearly and creatively.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and for believing in the power of education. Your support is helping to shape curious, confident, and thoughtful readers and writers, and I am truly grateful for the lasting impact you are making on my students' academic journey.","fullyFundedDate":1754707025095,"projectUrl":"project/scholastic-storyworks-magazine/9358184/","projectTitle":"Scholastic Storyworks Magazine+","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jimenez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9552304_orig.jpg?crop=1552,1551,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716168579370","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9552304"},{"teacherId":9552304,"projectId":9147799,"letterContent":"I hope this letter finds you well. As a 5th-grade teacher, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of the Generation Genius science program. Your contribution has made an incredible impact on my classroom and, more importantly, on my students' learning experience.\r\n\r\nThe enthusiasm in my classroom has been truly inspiring since we began using Generation Genius. Science can sometimes feel abstract to students at this age, but this program makes it tangible and exciting. The interactive videos, real-world connections, and engaging experiments have captivated my students' attention in ways I haven't seen before. They are not only absorbing scientific concepts but are also developing a genuine love for learning and inquiry.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stands out occurred during our unit on the Earth's rotation. My students were so engaged in the lesson that they continued discussing and exploring these concepts during recess, eagerly sharing what they had learned by using their shadows as a way to see the Earth's rotation. (see attached photos) That level of excitement is rare and speaks volumes about the quality and impact of the Generation Genius program.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students are gaining not just a deeper understanding of science but the critical thinking skills and curiosity that will serve them in all areas of life. Your support is helping to shape the next generation of scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of myself and my 5th graders, thank you once again for believing in the power of education and for making such a positive difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1743022535020,"projectUrl":"project/we-are-scientists/9147799/","projectTitle":"We Are Scientists!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jimenez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9552304_orig.jpg?crop=1552,1551,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716168579370","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9552304"},{"teacherId":9154048,"projectId":8553813,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity in making this project a reality! The moment my students saw the TickiT Sensory Mood Light Table, their faces lit up with joy and curiosity. It has quickly become the heart of our classroom, where students gather daily to explore colors, build with translucent pattern blocks, and engage in calming sensory activities. One of my students with Autism was immediately drawn to the table—at first, she would simply watch the changing lights, but now, she actively participates in activities using the manipulatives I place on it. Seeing her engage, explore, and find comfort in this space has been one of the most rewarding experiences.\r\n\r\nThe sensory discs and emotion-based learning materials have also made a huge impact. Many of my students, especially those who become easily overwhelmed, have found this area to be a safe space where they can regulate their emotions. It has become part of our daily routine—whether students are pressing on the squishy discs to calm themselves or using the Feelings & Emotions Dough Mats to express how they feel, this space is helping them build essential social-emotional skills. The excitement and engagement these materials have brought into our classroom are incredible, and other teachers have even taken notice, asking how they can incorporate similar sensory elements into their own rooms!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to use these resources to expand our lessons on emotions, problem-solving, and collaborative play. My students are learning how to communicate their feelings and work together in ways they hadn't before. We will continue incorporating the light table and emotion cards into literacy and storytelling activities, encouraging students to describe how characters feel and connect those emotions to their own experiences. Thanks to your support, my students have a space where they feel safe, engaged, and excited to learn every single day. Writing correctly is so important especially for our young learners. They have loved getting to explore writing with all these different sensory tools. Their favorite would probably have to be the gel sensory writing mats by Hand2Mind. This is an easy pick for a literacy center. It is engaging and motivates our kinders to want to practice writing letters, curves, or even words. It allows them to choose whether to write in the gel with their finger or with the stylus pen. Students also love the wooden alphabet trace boards. This helps them to learn correct handwriting as they practice pencil grip, directionality, and pressure needed to write. I like that they can hear the pencil (wooden pencil) as they move it down and around each letter. Many students write very lightly it is illegible so this activity combined with the noise of the wood is a great support. They also enjoy the sensory gel bead fillled alphabet letters to trace them and practice letter names and sounds.","fullyFundedDate":1730410868134,"projectUrl":"project/little-but-soon-to-be-strong-writers/8603858/","projectTitle":"Little but Soon to Be Strong Writers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7405863_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1682207802591","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7405863"},{"teacherId":7405863,"projectId":8769530,"letterContent":"Thank you for all of our new science and plant activities for science centers. They loved them so much, we decided to use some activities as individual incentives for good behavior. We are going to begin our science unit on weather very soon so we can't wait to start these new centers. Students will get to investigate each type of weather by learning about it, drawing each weather type and \"seeing it\" through sensory play.
