My Students

My school has over 2,000 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. We are the largest charter school in New York State with the motto that "Every Day is Career Day."

Career preparation begins at my school in kindergarten where students are exposed to different careers as well as the skills needed to enter the "world of work".

As a fourth grade inclusion teacher, my job is to work with students of a variety of backgrounds and abilities.

My Project

Covid-19 has changed the way teachers teach and students learn. We are currently doing remote learning and I am teaching my students from a laptop. With the programs we use, I am not able to see my students while I present information.

A second monitor would allow my class to use programs where they can complete work as I am teaching, and I will be able to see their work in real time.

It will be so beneficial to see all of my students while I present. It would increase engagement and my ability to gauge their needs while I am instructing.

I will be able to slide my students to the second monitor providing them the largest and clearest view of content, while I see them on the smaller screen from my laptop. I will be able to see who is raising hands, who is participating, and who needs more support. Having a second monitor will help me to be the best teacher possible from a distance.
