Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the past 3 years since I have been the school librarian, my goal was to get my students excited about reading. I have just started to add more graphic novels to our school library. The students love it! Students now come in and ask for the next book in the series they are reading. I have students that start jumping up and down when I tell them that we have the book they are looking for. Words can't describe how happy I am to see my students excited to read.

Students just need to find the right book.

Graphic novels are perfect to help the reluctant reader get engaged with a book.

I also believe in taking student requests for books. Many of these books were requested by the students. Sonic the Hedgehog is an extremely popular book, but we only have three copies. These books will help keep encouraging our readers to find joy in reading again.
