My Students

My students are an awesome group of learners, leaders, and friends. I love getting to see them each day, not just to see them engage in lessons but to see their joy in being present in my classroom.

As we prepare for the rest of the year my students are gearing up for the rigor and changes that will come with middle school.

They are funny, intelligent, kind, and ready to dive into the rest of their academic careers. I cannot wait to see what they accomplish this school year!

My Project

Even though my fifth graders are nearing middle school, they still love a great picture book and we bond over our class chapter book each day. But they often miss small pieces of information that can only be understood through seeing a word or picture.

A document camera would allow students to follow along with words- developing fluency and higher order word recognition- as well as get a closer look at illustration that enhance the meaning of a story.

Document cameras are great for read alouds but also help students engage in sharing their own work. Students will be able to share their writing, math problem solving, and science exploration under the camera as well. File folders will help us organize research ideas and keep work organized.
