Help me give my students a document camera so that I will be able to provide a step by step visual of various assignments.

My Students

Our school is a brand new community school. We are a Title I school with limited resources. My students are creative, thoughtful, and love hands on activities.

My students in general are visual learners and having a document camera will help them focus on the step by step directions because they will be able to see me demonstrate each step in real time.

We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning option to help meet the needs of every student. They are truly an enthusiastic group and I am lucky to have the opportunity to teach them.

My Project

The document camera that I have requested will help students see step by step directions on new math and science concepts. Students create interactive notebooks and make entries on a daily basis. Using a document camera will give them a better understanding of how the pages are organized and put together. A document camera will also help me show students how to complete various assignments.

The added benefit to using a document camera is that my back will not be to the students as I explain, I am hearing impaired, and it will make it easier for me to check for student understanding.

A document camera replaces what used to be the overhead projector without all the mess, but it can be used for so much more than just showing a document.
