My students need a document camera. We are learning basic math and writing skills. They will be able to see work up close as I help them from our books.

My Students

Our class needs a document camera. We are learning basic math and writing skills. The document camera would help the kids to see my writing LIVE up on the smart board screen!

We are an Oklahoma school.

Most of our students have free or reduced lunches. Many of them come from broken homes. We have a backpack program that feeds many of them on the weekend because we believe them to be hungry. The needs are many and the resources are limited. But these kids are also like sponges. They just need time, love and patience.

My Project

Overhead projectors are a thing of the past. Document cameras are the new version. They can hook up to your computer, and project anything on your desk up on the smart board screen. Many problems that we learn in math are too complicated to draw. When plotting points on a graph, learning to read a thermometer, and discussing 3D figures and shapes, a document camera would project our math book or worksheet up on the screen and students can follow along as I work a problem. The possibilities are endless! Even basic math skills such as borrowing in subtraction would be so much easier to get across if the students could see the problem in their math book as I work it up on the screen.

Kids in poverty need many different types of experiences and examples to help them succeed in life.

Basic math and writing skills are essential, and the document camera would definitely help the kids to learn!
