For many of my students who come from low-income families, having these items provided for them removed a financial burden from their families and helped them feel included alongside their classmates.\r\nThe backpacks allowed students to carry their packets, water bottles, and materials during outdoor lessons and hikes, keeping them organized and ready to learn throughout the day. The flashlights were especially helpful during evening activities and when traveling between cabins and learning areas after dark on our night hike, helping students feel safe and comfortable.\r\nMost importantly, these supplies helped students focus on the true purpose of camp—learning about nature, working together as a team, and building independence.
