Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The thing that I love most about my students is their love for one another. When we are all in class, they are the ones that make our classroom feel like home. When they finish early with their work, they ask me if they can walk around and help other students who need it. I had a student come up to the board and explain their work and they were having a bit of a hard time so the rest of the class started silently cheering their name and whispering encouraging words such as "You can do it! I know you can!" I have never met such loving students.
My students have given me the best first year any teacher could ask for and I want to do something for them in return!
My kids are special because although they fight many challenges outside of our title one school, they come in everyday with a smile, eager to learn. They are my heroes and I love them. I want what is best for them and I hope you can help me make this possible!
My Project
In 5th grade, we learn about several systems within the body such as the skeletal system, circulatory system and digestive system. I believe the best way to understand how these systems work is to dive right into a dissection experience!
As a little scientist, it is far better to have a hands-on experience than read about it in a science textbook!
With the right dissecting materials, I want to liven up their science experience by dissecting an owl pellet for the skeletal system and dissecting a worm for the digestive system. These dissecting kits will provide endless possibilities for my kids' science adventures!
