One of the chapters they read was from The Lightning Thief. I brought them to my classroom last year, and the kids said, \"They are very loved.\" Still, it took away from their experience when pages were missing or coming loose. However, they enjoyed reading the book and watching the movie at the end.\r\n\r\nThis school year, the kids were so excited to be the very first ones to hold and open the new books. They held them and smelled them. I told them, \"That's what bookstores smell like,\" and asked, \"Has anyone been to Barnes & Noble?\" A handful raised their hands. It was an incredible moment watching their faces light up as they held the new books.
