Hello and thank you for reading! My name is Ms. B and I will be teaching in WCCUSD. I will have approximately 30 third graders and I want to do everything I can do give them the absolute most in the year they are with me.
As a WCCUSD alum myself, I have a deeper understanding of the struggles and hurdles many of these kids have to face in order to keep up with their peers from more well off backgrounds and I want to dedicate myself to giving them the best I can.
It is my goal to enrich their learning experience and get them excited to learn. I hope to motivate them to become life long learners and support them with the tools they need to be successful!

My Project
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to read my project. During the first month of school, my student have been begging for more hands on activities to make our science lessons come to life! Keeping that in mind, I have specifically requested items so I can conduct at least one major hands on activity in our classroom for the major chapters!
My students are always excited to dig deeper- they are in constant awe of hands on activities that bring their curriculum to life and make their imagination a reality!
Each chapter has specific materials within this project proposal.
For their chapter on Light, I have requested flashlights, colored light bulbs and colored paper! This will teach the students about how light travels, is reflected and how colors of objects are reflected.
The next chapter that I wanted to focus on was Living things! For this chapter, I have requested plants for each child. We will conduct experiments to better understand how living environment affect quality of life. Some plants will be watered regularly, others will not. Some will receive direct or indirect sunlight. Students will learn to record data and make observations! This chapter will also tie into conversations for the subsequent chapter on living things in a world of change and global warming. This can help students think about how they can be better to our environment.
