Hello donors! Thank you so much for taking the time to delve into my project! I am a first year teacher and it is of great importance to me that each child feels included and supported by me and their classmates. For this reason, at the beginning of the year, I will be asking each student to make a self-portrait (which is why the wide variety of skin colored crayons and pencils are important) and asking them to share a little about themselves to their classmates. Representation matters! That's why I have carefully selected the books in this project because each child will come from different walks of life and should feel seen, heard and supported! Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
