My Project

This school year students in several English classes have engaged in independent reading as part of their classes. Because of this more and more students are checking out books and are interested in trying out books from new authors' perspectives.

These books will be used as part of our state-wide reader's choice program.

Our school has not participated in this program before, so you will be supporting our inaugural year of reading and voting on a set of young adult books from diverse perspectives. I'm excited to start this program so that students can compare their perspective on titles with the perspectives of their peers from around the state. These books will function as both a mirror of students' own culture and identities as well as a window into other people's experiences.
