Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to start a library for students to check out books. The students experience "Libro Lunes" (Book Mondays) which they do using YouTube. While Youtube is helpful it can be hard finding a book in general and even finding one that is read aloud in a way that ficilitates my students. I think that it is important for students to read from an actual book to improve their reading and Spanish fluency skills. By using the paper books students can read at their own pace and follow along. In addition, they will be able to stop and take notes. Plus holding a book in your hands brings joy!

The iPad and pencil will be used to create more interactive lessons for students.

It would create more interactive lessons by allowing resouces to be put onto the board while I help the students while they work using the iPad an accessing Google docs and Google slides. It will also allow collaboration among students if their chromebook is not working. In addition it would be easier for me to sync my students' work to my Google drive through photos and videos.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
