This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The three Rs, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, are concepts that every student should know. We need to teach future generations to make a positive impact on our planet.

My students are eager learners that want to explore their surroundings that would allow them to strive in their education.

Without enriched resources they seemed to lose their stimulus and put less effort in their work. The class is composed of twenty English Language Learners. Most of the students are self-motivated, eager learners that would benefit from all types of available resources. Some parents can't assist their sons/daughters because they don't acquire the English language. So that is a disadvantage for the student. My students attend a public school that is in a high poverty area infested with gangs.

My Project

I believe that if you give a child a chance to be successful in their learning, they view it as a meaningful experience. If I can provide that, it would mean a lot to me and to them. An iPad would enriched their learning and make their understanding of concepts easier since they would have visuals that would help them remember and do better in their testing. I want my students to read and learn about the need to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. An iPad would motivate them to read. There are so many reading apps available that I feel would spark their interest in reading about recycling. With an iPad, all my students will gravitate toward it, simply because technology will motivate them to read! With an iPad, my students can also access links that would teach them key concepts like composting, natural resources, alternate energy sources, and carbon print. Having an iPad would put my students a step ahead of success and, in turn, will help preserve our planet for later generations.

I would like donors to support my project because I am confident that the students would profit from learning concepts in important subjects like science with an iPad.

According to California State Standards, they need to know about conservation and environmental issues well to move on to upper grades. I want your support to enrich my students' learning.
