Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 5th grade student are a diverse group of leaders who use critical thinking skills to solve real life problems. Emphasizing a project based learning model, my students learn through hands-on, engaging, and interactive activities preparing them for the demands of the 21st century.
My students are eager learners looking to change the world one step at a time with their creativity, innovation, and motivation.
Students in my classroom love to engage in inquiry lessons where they ask questions and research answers for their questions.
My Project
My students will explore the world of organisms at a microscopic level to have a better understanding of the world around them. They will analyze insects, bugs, and animals to develop a broader understanding of the scientific method. In my class, they will have a chance to observe, hypothesize, experiment and make conclusions. This understanding will enhance their perspectives of scientific practices with living organisms.
My students will have an opportunity to develop skills to compare and contrast various living organisms through optical observations.
While my students are observing living organism, implementing the scientific method and using comparison skills, they will also be learning how to properly operate a microscope to gather vital information.
