My students need a plethora of chapter books to read in the classroom! So many of my students are voracious readers, but providing them with books that interest them is so important.

My Students

My students are growing and learning in a small, tight-knit school community. It's the type of community that I longed to be a part of when I decided to become an educator. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. Without even realizing it, they are inspirations to themselves and others around them, especially me. Our classes serve students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities.

My students are talented, creative, inquisitive, and passionate learners who have an astounding amount of self-awareness and interest in helping other people.

I want to provide them with the tools they need so that they can be as successful as possible because one day they're going to change the world.

My Project

With our society becoming increasingly technological, these books will enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. The majority of my students are constantly surrounded by technology, which is why I want to create a classroom library for them that they’ll truly love. Once my students finish their work, they always have the opportunity to read. Students will have the opportunity to pick a book that matches their reading level and suits their needs.

With these new books, students will be delighted to race to our classroom library and find it fully stocked with a variety of exciting and engaging books geared to their taste.

Reading is such an integral part of education. The opportunity to challenge themselves with books will make my students stronger readers, which in turn will allow them to be more successful in all academic areas and life as a whole.
