My students are growing and learning in a small, tight-knit school community. It's the type of community that I longed to be a part of when I decided to become an educator. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. Without even realizing it, they are inspirations to themselves and others around them, especially me. My class serves students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities. My students are talented, creative, inquisitive, and passionate learners who have an astounding amount of self-awareness and interest in helping other people. I want to provide them with the tools they need so that they can be as successful as possible, because one day they're going to change the world.
