Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our day begins with the sunshine painted on the playground as music plays inside and outside of our school. Each day starts with kind words of encouragement from our principal and even dancing together to select songs. Even though many of my students have a tough life, they come to school every day eager to learn. My school is over 65% free and reduced lunch, and the great news is our daily attendance rate is over 95%. Our students have great school spirit and pride with a transiency rate less than 5%. Twenty-one buses arrive every morning to drop off the students from all corners of the valley, creating a beautiful rainbow of diversity.
My Project
Students in first through fifth grade will have the opportunity to design many items such as water bottles, shirts, bags, posters, bulletin boards, magnets, and greeting cards by using the Cricut machine. They will learn how to design a project using the free Cricut Design Space.
Students will see their creations come to life and learn the basics of entrepreneurship!
Students will identify opportunities and creative problem solve as they create items they can sell for a fundraiser, event, or school spirit day.
The possibilities to create with this machine are endless. Thank you for supporting our students' natural ability to imagine!
