My Project

I teach in an urban setting and have 23 amazing sixth grade students. Many overcome obstacles outside their control and come to school each day to work hard and get the support they need. My heterogeneous classroom, including students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, qualifies for free breakfast and lunch.

Differentiating learning for students is key to their success!

Having an online personalized learning program, IXL, for students to access will be a game changer when providing intervention in the classroom and online practice at home. This program also gives me analytics so that I can adjust student learning in real-time. With a comprehensive K-12 curriculum, I plan to use this program to provide individualized math guidance to all students. I am able to select different skills and grade levels to adapt to each student's goal.

I have used this program with students in the past and saw their median percent progress increase by 157%. I am looking to help this year's class achieve the same success.
