My students need their own set of math manipulatives so they can have them in arms reach when completing assignments. Students will have their choice of which manipulative works best for them!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Title I school in Burlington, North Carolina. My school has recently started the Leader in Me Program and I have seen so many positive changes in the last three years. Students are now becoming more independent and wanting to reach each goal they set for themselves.
I want to help them reach their goals by being able to provide them with essential materials that promote and encourage their individual learning styles.
My students do their best work when they feel passionate about it. The power of choice helps them to feel that passion and do their best!
My Project
Students are expected to learn each math standard we teach them, but each students has a different style of learning.
The Math Manipulative Toolbox will help students to decide which manipulative helps them complete assignments in the most efficient way.
The toolbox can be stored in the desks which makes for easy access. This will also help with students getting up and down, moving about the classroom, looking for manipulatives to use.
We teach how to use each manipulative throughout the year. Students will be able to have their own materials and not have to worry about sharing and possibly not getting as much hands on access as they need.
