All of my students have a hearing loss, ranging from mild to profound. I travel from school to school to work with them, and they are anywhere from 4 to 18 years old. During our time together, we focus on reading, writing, math, compensatory skills, transition skills, and auditory functioning - just to name a few!
While all my students have varying degrees of hearing loss and different needs and talents, they all have one thing in common: they want to learn new things with access to materials.
My Project
Having a wobble seat and white board surface will help to engage my students and provide them with the opportunity to learn with flexible seating options and hands on learning. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them.
The materials I am requesting will allow my students to access instruction in front of them where they can hear the best while sitting in an arrangement that allows them to move as needed.
Students will be able to focus on the instruction and learn because they make good choices about what they are sitting on and are able to see the instruction directly on the table in front of them!
