Hello!!! My name is Emily Manson and I'm an itinerant deaf/hard of hearing teacher with St. Paul Public Schools. My colleagues (other deaf/hard of hearing teachers in the district) and I see our students struggle when participating in everyday activities, like going to the movies or interacting with friends. We decided to organize a field trip for our students which will give them the experience of going to a movie theater and watching a movie that is fully accessible to them! They will learn about and try out different technological devices that make everyday activities less restrictive. And last but not least, our students will have the chance to socialize with each other and not feel like they are the only ones with a hearing loss! Our field trip is set to take place at the Marcus Theater in Oakdale, MN on December 7, 2017. Thanks so much for helping us fund our field trip!
