Decreasing the Digital Divide in STEM

Help me give my students access to digital curriculum! We need to be able to interact with multiple media formats, and actively engage students in developing best practices of 21st-century skills in STEM-based fields.

My Students

I love the motivation and drive of my science students! They are leading the way in accessing and using digital content. They enjoy the hands on curriculum that makes science content relevant and enjoyable. I am so proud of them.

Their enthusiasm and openness to new learning make them a joy to teach.

As they make their way forward in today's digital environment, I want them to have access to the resources they need to keep them on a level playing field. We are grateful for all the help we receive.

My Project

We are a bring-your-own-device school in an urban environment. Several of my students cannot afford their own devices, creating a digital divide and making it harder for them to access critical content.

As a charter school in our state, we only receive an average of one third the funding of traditional public schools.

This creates a financial hardship within our school to provide an adequate education with the same resources given to public schools.

My students need Chromebooks to successfully access digital content in multiple platforms in order to meet their diverse learning needs. Having Chromebooks will allow students access to current events in the rapidly-evolving world of scientific research and development.
