Help me give my students a Cricut Maker, so coding and book club students can design and create t-shirts showing pride in participation and expand awareness of the clubs, and increase opportunities for creative making in the library.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are a rapidly growing and diverse community of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. They come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures. Many of them come from households where English is a second language and for some, meeting basic needs is a daily struggle. They have a range of academic abilities and varied learning styles.
Despite any difficulties, our students come to school each day eager to engage with one another as they discover new interests, develop new passions, and work to define who they are and who they want to become.
Lunchtime bookclubs, an afterschool coding club, and bi-weekly MakerSpace times in the library offer students the opportunities to spend time with others who share their interests, make new friends, expand their interests, and encourage creativity.
My Project
A Cricut Maker is a machine that can cut paper, stencils, vinyl, fabric and even wood! Using design software on a computer or tablet, students can affordably create custom-designed t-shirts and so much more.
The possibilities for using the Cricut Maker are myriad and will encourage creativity, collaboration, and communication among students.
Coding club students can cut pieces from balsa wood to augment their robotic designs. Students can make headings for science fair display boards, vinyl decals for fundraising, and felt shapes for sewing circuits.
Exploring material and design options for the Cricut Maker will be an exciting opportunity for students that very few have access to at home.
