My students need customized workbooks for reading, math and writing. To create these workbooks I need ink, Velcro, laminating sheets, binding coils and magnets.
I have eleven students with special needs in first, second, and third grade. The students in my classroom have either intellectual disabilities, autism, or multiple disabilities.
To meet our needs, we work on academic, behavior, self-help, and motor skills.
Due to the individualized needs of my students it is difficult or even impossible to buy support materials for my students. For this reason I make many of my resources. This includes velcro books for calendars, communication boards, velcro sentence cards, and writing and math workbooks.
My Project
In my classroom I have many students with limited abilities. I still work to provide them exposure to as much information as possible. But I have needed to find ways to have them participate that do not require writing.
Each year I make individualize books for my students, we use these books for reading and math.
I need ink to print the pages of the book. I need laminating sheets to make the books last all year. I use the velcro because each page has individual cards the kids use since they cannot write. I use the binding coils to put the books together.
