My Students

My classroom is full of smart and enthusiastic kids!

My students are learning Spanish in a completely immersed experience to become fully bilingual!

These kids are mostly from English speaking households who enter our school with little to no Spanish speaking abilities. By the time our students enter 1st grade, they are speaking completely in Spanish with the teacher and their friends.

Their grasp of the Spanish language grows an incredible amount during their first grade year, and reading is a big part of that!

My Project

My students will grow their love of literature and reading in the Spanish language as they dive into these wonderful books!

One of our favorite things to do is read books together!

I love seeing them experience the story as we read through a book. It is one of the best ways to reach out to kids and pull them into a lifetime of loving literacy.

We will use these books for author studies, learning about characters, and comprehension strategies. The students will increase their reading fluency and their Spanish vocabulary with the help of these books.
