This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are curious, creative, and ready to learn. The class is with me all day and I try to keep the classroom environment clean and well organized. I am hoping to receive materials that will help the students know where to put things when they are done with them. When we break into small groups, I try to help students become responsible classroom citizens, put things away when they are done, clean up their own mess, and work together and independently. 100% of the children at my Title I school receive free lunch.
My Project
I feel it is important for students to learn to care for books and return them to the proper book bin or to the classroom library. They also need to have a place to put puzzles away. Whiteboards and dry erase markers need a place. Art supplies and paper need to be easily accessible for the children.
These materials will increase student responsibility and help my classroom routines run smoothly.
Children will be able to choose an activity, get the supplies they need and know where to return them. Spending time with kindergarten children to help them learn organizational skills is my goal.
