Many of the books we received from your donation are decodable stories that allow students to read stories with words they are able to decode based on the phonics skills that have been taught. Other books that our classroom received are books I read to the class which teaches them a love of reading and is an opportunity to enrich their vocabulary. \r\n\r\nBe assured that your donations were put to good use and will have a positive impact on the literacy skills not only of my students this year but in years to come. \r\n\r\nOne of the main goals for first graders is that they will learn to read so that they will later read to learn.
