Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have 52 loveable, funny, caring students. I love that my students care for living things and show their love and emotions by caring for our classroom plants. One of the units in science that I will be teaching is What Plants Need To Survive. This project will help students gain more knowledge of what plants need and they will have prior knowledge on how to take care of them. My goal, if this project gets funded, is to foster a love for living things and how taking care of something so small can be important not only in class but in life. We need fresh air to breathe and plants provide that for us. Being a Spanish Immersion teacher, expanding their vocabulary has always been one of my top priorities for my students. I plan to label the plants and all the greenery that we have in the classroom. Students will expand their vocabulary through plants, science, and living things.

Mrs. Sánchez-West will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by June 1.
