Our school is a Title I school that supplies every child with breakfast and lunch daily. It serves a diverse population, with students from all socioeconomic, military, special needs, and cultural backgrounds. It is a great place to teach!
This year I have the most amazing group of kindergarten students, and I am blessed to be their teacher!
They are loving, kind, thoughtful, smart, and hardworking! They make my days bright and cheerful! They always surprise me with sweet cards, beautiful pictures, and hugs of love, especially on those days that I need it! My kinders shower me with love and affection, and always want to be my side, even after the day is done! They melt my heart each and every day!
In our classroom, we practice kindness. I love seeing my kinders hugging, supporting and encouraging each other! When someone sheds a tear, there are 10 students grabbing a tissue and hugging him/her to make him/her feel better! When I think of these moments, it is very hard not to get emotional. My kids truly are the sweetest, kindest, little people I have ever met! Thank you for supporting these amazing students!
Thanks to Covid, our classroom looks a lot different this year. No more sharing supplies, no more sitting on the carpet, no more rotating through centers, and no more sharing of cubbies. I have a set of cubbies that can hold up to 10 students’ book bags, jackets, and supplies. Normally, my scholars would share these cubbies, but Covid has put a stop to sharing.
In order to help stop the spread of germs, I am requesting a set of cubbies.
Right now, I have 16 students and 10 cubbies. We have created a place for the other 6 students; however, their book bags and coats and up on the dirty floor. I would love to give them their own space where they can hang up their belongings, and not have to worry about losing something or dropping something on the floor. Each one of my scholars deserves to have a place to call their own, and they deserve to have a clean and safe environment. To our future donors, thank you for supporting our project!
