My Project

Humorous, energetic, caring, all describes my students in my 8th Grade Integrated Co-Taught Classes. Struggling also describes all of my students as well. I teach students with special needs as they are mostly learning disabled and/or students with ADHD. They are just as normal as the other students in our school; they are just academically lower.

Not only are my students struggling because of their disabilities and language barriers, but they are students attending school in a poverty-stricken district.

Students in my school come from all backgrounds and a huge chunk of our population are students who are English as a Second Language Learners. The resources available to my students are limited. We struggle with engagement. We struggle with behaviors. We struggle with parental support.

I would love to have a Cricut machine in my classroom for two reasons! The first reason would be to foster the creativity of my students. Cricut machines offer so many ways for students to be creative! They can create designs for projects, help to decorate the hallways and bulletin boards and take ownership of the school environment. Another reason I would love a Cricut machine for my students is because they all have been issued school devices. All these materials all look the same and with a Cricut and some permanent vinyl, we can label the devices in a fun way!
