This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a close classroom community! We love science, nature, and spending time outside. My students work hard every day to reach their social and academic goals and to be there for one another.

In our class, we keep empathy and kindness for others at the center of our learning experience.

My 12 students are comprised of five English learners and four that receive additional education services. We do a lot of work to build and maintain a strong classroom community where all students feel seen and respected.

My Project

The flexible seats are something that will greatly support learning in my classroom. Some of my students do not learn well in a traditional desk and chair setup, so I am always looking for alternative options for them. These flexible chairs will allow students to choose a place in the classroom that works best for their learning. We have 'choice time' at the end of every school day for students to have the opportunity to decompress and enjoy some free time. I The creative building set is a great activity that I can put out for students to play with during their choice time! I use timers ALL of the time in my classroom. It helps keep students on task and it ensures that the time I have with my students is spent in a productive way. The giant timer can live on my whiteboard and be within a clear view of the students. This timer is something that our classroom needs!
