During independent reading, I noticed a few students who usually have a hard time sitting still were able to stay engaged longer because the chairs gave them a way to move without distracting others. The pencil boxes have also made transitions so much smoother—students know exactly where their supplies are, which means we can spend more time learning and less time searching for materials.\r\n\r\nStudents were so excited! When the chairs arrived, I had a line of students asking if they could \"try one out\" right away. It was fun to see their faces light up as they realized these were just for them. With the pencil boxes, students were thrilled to have their own personal space for supplies—one even said, \"It feels like I finally have my own little desk toolbox!\"\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on collaborative group projects in science, and the new organization tools are helping so much. Each group can grab their pencil boxes quickly and settle into the activity without wasting time. The wobbly chairs are especially useful during group discussions, since they allow students who need movement to participate fully without disrupting their teammates. These resources are helping my students feel more comfortable, prepared, and ready to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1711330885904,"projectUrl":"project/small-group-seating/8274224/","projectTitle":"Small Group Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8631631_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x470,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710900383495","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8631631"},{"teacherId":6503283,"projectId":9069445,"letterContent":"The students and teachers of Sanchez Elementary would like to thank you. From fantasy creatures and dinosaurs, to their families and comic characters, to skyscrapers and cityscapes, they are eager to learn. With your gift of high-quality and culturally relevant tools, they are able to thrive and give full flight to their enthusiasm for creative expression.\r\n\r\nOur fourth and fifth grade artists began their personal artist's sketchbooks, and they began to work in them with advanced drawing tools, such as graphite sketching pencils and kneaded rubber erasers. Thanks to your gifts, they now have the tools to practice drawing techniques, build a portfolio of ideas, and express their thoughts, ideas, and feelings through drawing. Some students who had not been fully engaged really came alive when they had agency and ownership over their personal sketch books.\r\n\r\nWith your gift of multicultural crayons, pencils, and markers, all of our young artists can now ready represent themselves, their families, and their communities without the limitation of the standard selection of colors.
