Creativity and Critical Thinking Through STEM

My Students

My students are full of energy, kind, and funny. This group of first graders is a very diverse group of students with many learning styles. These kids come from various different backgrounds and cultures, but we mesh into one beautiful family.

My students are very motivated, curious, and amazing.

They have worked unbelievably hard this year to meet the rigorous expectations of first grade. They are now readers, writers, and mathematicians. We are even using a green screen to make reading stories more fun.

Teaching is not always easy. In fact, most days are extremely hard, but there is no greater feeling than when you see the light click on in one of their little heads and they become a reader. It is the most rewarding feeling ever.

My Project

These STEM materials will be used to challenge students thinking and creativity. Students will be able to choose daily STEM activities to work with after their daily tasks are done. Students will explore building many different things with several different materials. It will challenge them to think outside the box and be creative. These stem projects will also help motivate my students to work on their daily learning tasks as they will get to explore STEM activities when they are finished working. The kids will absolutely love all of this.
