Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 700 students in the central Las Vegas valley. With so many students, I need help getting premium materials to K-5 to work with throughout the school year. Art is one of their favorite classes, especially since the pandemic, it's an emotional outlet for my students. Their favorite type of art to make is ceramics.

In kindergarten students can make pinch pots, coil pots and simple sculptures.

By fifth grade students should be able to create slab constructed pots and larger sculptures. Using Crayola Model Magic-which is a simple, air dry modeling compound my students can start learning and experimenting with hand-building and modeling techniques to create 3-d, freestanding sculptures.

My students need to experience hand building and modeling techniques, it's an integral part of ceramic art. My students love clay and ceramics, but the materials are so pricey, please support our ceramics program.
