My Project

I would like to get a camera to allow my students to do a photo collage project to support their social-emotional learning. I've found that many students are still affected by the various tragic events in the last few years like the pandemic and wars that have caused stress and social setbacks in their lives.

My hope is that this project will help them capture memories and feel a sense of belonging in creating and building a classroom community.

The camera will also be used for capturing moments during events of our One Love Club where I am an advisor. Displaying photos of club members and events will help to build community and allow students from a diversity of backgrounds to feel accepted and welcomed as they connect at club events. The snacks will be used to support students and create a caring environment where their needs are met. Some Hawaii GLOs that this will cover include being Community Contributors as they build community by connecting with one another through the project and club in a warm and supportive environment. Another Hawaii GLO addressed with these items is to be a Quality Producer by allowing students the tech tools to be creative while also addressing their social-emotional learning.
