Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my first year teaching at this primary school, and I’ve been working hard to build a welcoming classroom for my students. I’ve slowly added materials and instruments using my own money, but I’ve reached the point where I can’t do more alone.

Our classroom needs rugs to create a comfortable space where students can sit, read, and work together.

A simple rug makes a big difference in helping children feel safe and ready to learn.

I also teach piano during small group time. I started learning piano at five years old, and I know how powerful music can be for building confidence and focus. My students are incredibly talented and eager to learn. Right now, we only have one piano, so they have to take turns.

My goal is to add a few beginner keyboards so several students can practice at the same time and grow their skills together.
