My Project

At Ka Waihona, students are composed of a majority of Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders who live on Hawaiian Homestead. These students come from the Leeward Coast of Oahu, from Nanakuli, Maili, Waianae, and Makaha. Our students are resilient, socially responsible, and resourceful.

Learning through art will provide a wealth of benefits for children, both in the short and long term.

From developing problem solving skills to improving mental health, teamwork and communication skills, the arts can help my students to learn and grow in a fun and creative environment. For this project, we are requesting a Cricut Joy Xtra, creative tools, and cutting mats. These materials will be able to open new doors of creativity and allow my students to explore hands-on design, personalize projects, and unleash their imagination in various ways.
