We received many, many school supplies for the students this year. Some of the supplies helped to start our school year off being prepared and organized, such as folders and reading envelopes. Having the supplies BEFORE the school year began was an incredible help. I was able to prepare the folders (some of them complicated - with different sections and tabs) with the necessary worksheets/inserts before the craziness of the school year started. If I didnʻt have the supplies before the year started, I donʻt think I would have even incorporated some of these organizational ideas into my classroom routines, as it would have taken too much time to prepare (amongst the high demands of starting a school year.) The kids were so happy to get homework, reading, and quarterly folders already prepared! And they have been doing an excellent job of staying organized throughout the year so far! \r\n\r\nSome of the supplies are/will be incorporated throughout the year for things such as painting/art projects and math manipulative toolkits. It is a pleasure to see their faces light up with something as simple as learning supplies. \r\n\r\nWe thank you, again, for all that you have given us.","fullyFundedDate":1759433108376,"projectUrl":"project/well-supplied-students-and-teachers/9775135/","projectTitle":"Well-Supplied Students and Teachers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Karla","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3318967_orig.jpg?crop=425,425,x370,y159&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565647107736","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3318967"},{"teacherId":2175428,"projectId":9428838,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donations to our Custom Practice Gear project. Your generosity made it possible for students in kindergarten, first grade, and seventh grade to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences centered around food, culture, and responsibility.\r\n\r\nAs a resource special education teacher, flexibility is key. Your support allowed us to adapt in a way that still honored the heart of the project. Instead of growing our own produce, we were able to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables and teach students the importance of supporting those who care for and grow food in our ʻāina. With these ingredients, students made smoothies, lemonade, chicken salad, and a shared fruit bowl, experiences that were both engaging and delicious.\r\n\r\nThis project strongly reflected our school's core values, especially mālama and kuleana. Students learned mālama by recognizing and respecting the hard work of local farmers and understanding why it is important to care for our land and community. They practiced kuleana by being intentional during the gathering and preparation process, using what we had (much like our ancestors) and working together with purpose and care.\r\n\r\nThe Ninja blender and utensils you provided made these experiences possible and safe for students across age levels and abilities. Many students shared that they had made similar foods at home, which helped them feel confident, connected, and proud. And of course, being able to enjoy what they created made the learning even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your support and belief in our students. We brought the equipment straight into our field lessons at the nearby stream, where students practiced casting, identifying native and invasive species, and recording ecological observations in their field journals. One powerful moment came when a group caught their first invasive fish; they immediately connected the dots between what we'd learned in class and the impact they could make on our local ecosystem. Seeing them handle the gear with confidence and pride showed just how much this project has elevated their sense of responsibility as young environmental stewards.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students are now moving into the next phase of their conservation project.
