"Helping young student athletes become physically fit, so that when we grow up we won’t be lazy, or overweight, or unhealthy," said Chyson, a junior defensive back. Lack of equipment prohibits proper training and preparation in order to compete with other schools with top of the line facilities and equipment. Football is one of the most physically demanding sports. Our student athletes understand that as well, but what they do not understand is how come some of their equipment is over 6-10 years old. Our plan is to begin to replace the older equipment with newer equipment. This will make a huge difference for numerous reasons. First, our student athletes will be really excited and motivated to work with the new equipment. Next, the risk of injury will drop as well because we have modern and functional equipment that allows for proper training and preparation. Trying to train using outdated and expired equipment will increase the chances of injury as well. For this project, we are focusing on replacing a few of our well seasoned padded blocking and tackling dummies that we have. The gmae football, Goalrilla Step Over Dummy, Tackling Dummy, and Blocking Dummy will replace our older equipment that we have had for almost 7 years. These three pieces of equipment are integral to our everyday practice schedule.
