This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My energetic, creative, and spirited fourth graders are thrilled about learning. They are enthusiastic about doing hands on projects!
My artistic scholars want to do projects that are more interesting than research papers-they want to bring art into the picture!
They love using art as a medium to show that they have grasped information.
As I have explained the project I want to do with them, their eyes get bigger and bigger. They are hardworking, talented young people; They want to be engaged in their learning.
My Project
My students are learning about landforms in our social studies class. Through the use of clay they will be able to express their understanding of landforms while getting artistic exposure.
The use of clay will allow their creative talents to come to light.
By molding canyons, islands, peninsulas, rivers, etc. with their hands, they will be able to show off their knowledge in a style more exciting than a research paper. This project is well suited to kids who have multiple intelligences, and quite simply, it’s going to be fun!
The use of these materials will use their creative mind and problem solving skills. Please, kindly consider making a difference in the learning of my students.
