My Students

Do you know how it feels to curl up with a good book? We do too! My students have been practicing Read to Self as a part of The Daily Five reading framework. We could really use nice, cozy seating areas to accomplish this! The bean bag chairs and carpet that have been requested would be perfect!

I have a class of 25 ESL students who are discovering a love for books.

The area we are in is of moderate poverty and some of the children only get the opportunity to read here at school. We spend 20-30 minutes a day doing independent reading. During this time, I observe their curiosity and imaginations sparking! It is truly a wonderful thing to see!

My Project

The bean bag chairs and carpet will be perfect for read to self time. The children will be excited and eager to find a nice, cozy spot to read their books! These materials will brighten our classroom and brighten our children's attitude toward reading! They are greatly needed and would be utilized to the fullest.

These materials will make a huge difference in our classroom.

As of now, children are finding spots on the floor, at their desk, or against a wall to read independently. These materials will create a welcoming classroom environment and spark the children's interest in becoming lifelong readers!
