My Project

My Kindergarten class this year is one of a kind. It is full of excited, energetic, and very eager learners. My class is kind, attentive, and full of personality. We have had the most wonderful start to the year, and I hope to continue that by adding some fun new materials to our room.

I know one thing for sure: kids do best when they get to engage in hands-on activities.

Our district adopted a new literacy curriculum based on the Science of Reading, and it has been amazing. My class loves it, and I do, too. Our grade level has also been exploring new math materials, and are working on curating the perfect experience for our kids. The new materials we have to teach with are great, but I would love to add just a bit more to each program, particularly in small groups, to reach all learners and truly master all concepts.

In alignment with our new literacy curriculum, we will use the magnetic letters, wands, activity boards, sound boxes, and clip-on letters in engaging activities to help solidify what we're learning about hearing, blending, and manipulating sounds. Adding multi-sensory activities to our reading lessons will help each and every kid understand on a much deeper level.

We will use the number blocks activities to support our number recognition and number sense during our math lessons and centers. My class adores Number Blocks, and will love having these manipulatives to practice/play with numbers real-time in the classroom.

These hands-on materials will really take our learning to the next level, and allow all kids engaging experiences that really stick.
