It really does mean a lot.\r\nI have been teaching fourth grade at O'Dea Core Knowledge Elementary for a long time, and one thing I have learned is that kids do their best work when they have some say in how and where they learn. Flexible seating gives them that. Some students think better when they can stretch out on a floor cushion during reading. Others need a lap desk to feel settled during writing. Having options makes a real difference in how long students can stay focused and engaged.\r\n\r\n Our flexible seating has been going strong for over five years, but it has finally reached the end of its life. We have had to throw things out as they wore down, and my students have genuinely noticed. They actually asked me to write this grant, which tells you everything about how much they value having these options. \r\n\r\n Thanks to donors like you, we are restocking cushions, mats, and a lap desk so every student has a comfortable, functional place to land during the school day. They are already in use every day.\r\n\r\n Thank you again for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1771007973051,"projectUrl":"project/replacing-well-loved-seating-to-support/10003617/","projectTitle":"Replacing Well-Loved Seating to Support Growing Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Elena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp479309_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721436046468","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/zamora"},{"teacherId":479309,"projectId":9953774,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. It genuinely means a lot.\r\nI teach fourth grade at O'Dea Core Knowledge Elementary in Fort Collins, and I have been wanting to get this classroom better organized for a while now. With the thermal label printer and labeling supplies, I can finally mark every station, shelf, and bin so students know exactly where things belong and can find what they need without stopping to ask me. At this age, that kind of independence is something they take real pride in.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic pocket sleeves are going to be great for posting directions and problem sets right at eye level around the room. Students can reference them mid-task without losing their train of thought, which keeps things moving and keeps everyone feeling more confident.\r\n\r\nThese are the kinds of classroom basics that make a real difference in how the day flows, and I would not have been able to get them without the support of donors like you.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students. They are a great group of kids, and you have helped make their classroom a better place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1766020600951,"projectUrl":"project/tools-to-help-4th-graders-lead-their-lea/9953774/","projectTitle":"Tools to Help 4th-Graders Lead their Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Elena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp479309_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721436046468","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/zamora"},{"teacherId":479309,"projectId":9434946,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom through this grant. Your contribution has already made a meaningful difference in our learning environment, and I am truly grateful.\r\n\r\nI'm so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year. My students are curious, energetic, and full of questions about the world around them. They come to school each day ready to learn, create, and connect, and what I love most is their growing independence and the way they support each other as they tackle big ideas.\r\n\r\nThe supplies funded through this project—utility tote organizers, magnetic labels, bulletin board materials, Paper Mate pens, Sharpies, laminating sheets, an extra-large whiteboard roll, and a dependable electric pencil sharpener—may seem simple, but they have had a huge impact on how our classroom functions. These tools help us stay organized, express our thinking, and bring our ideas to life on the page and on our classroom walls.\r\n\r\nThe tote organizers and labels have helped create a calm, orderly space where students can easily find materials and take responsibility for keeping our classroom running smoothly. The bulletin board paper brightens our room and also serves as a reusable surface for writing and collaboration. The whiteboard paper has created new areas where students can work together, solve problems, and share their thinking in ways that feel fun and interactive.\r\n\r\nThe writing supplies and laminating sheets support daily lessons, group projects, and long-term displays that celebrate student learning. And the heavy-duty pencil sharpener—quiet, reliable, and fast—has been an unexpected hero, preventing constant interruptions and helping students stay focused and ready to work.\r\n\r\nWith your support, my students now have a welcoming, functional, and organized space where they can feel confident, capable, and ready to learn every single day. Thank you for believing in them and for helping create a classroom environment that truly inspires learning.","fullyFundedDate":1754661683411,"projectUrl":"project/sharpening-minds-and-pencils/9434946/","projectTitle":"Sharpening Minds (and Pencils!)","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Elena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp479309_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721436046468","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/zamora"},{"teacherId":6103548,"projectId":8566199,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! We use most of these items daily, and the ones we don't are hot commodities! Everything in this grant is used to increase welcoming vibes, engagement, and peer interaction. \r\n\r\nSome of our favorites include the math decks, the polly pockets, the number blocks counters, and the mood light lamp. The math decks are used for a plethora of activities, but our favorite is called \"Top It\". Kids play in partners and ask to play as often as they can! The polly pockets help with fine motor and social skills. They are typically used during literacy centers, but the kids adore them and ask for them often. The number blocks counters are used for small group intervention, hands on counting, math centers, and more. And finally, the mood lamp contributes to the warmth and coziness of the classroom. It's set up right next to our calendar and we change the colors depending on the day, the season, etc. It's such a blast! \r\n\r\nAll of these items greatly impact our classroom, and we wouldn't have any of them without your generosity.
