Help me give my students book making supplies to write about their daily lives during the pandemic and to write about their current learning in order to create a book to share with siblings and family members.
My students are working hard at home to keep up with their studies. Many of my students also are helping younger siblings daily with their homework while their parents work in essential jobs. Therefore, my students and their siblings are spending a lot of time on their computers and in front of screens.
These book making supplies will allow my students to be creative writers and give them an opportunity to create books to be read at home with siblings and family members.
Students will receive materials to make handmade books. They will write about their daily lives, the passion projects and independent learning they are pursuing, the stories inspired by this time in history.
Each student will be able to create a handmade book--a work of art which will be shared with siblings and family members and become part of students' home libraries.
These materials will demonstrate the value of books students can hold in their hands and learning that can happen beyond the walls of our school.
The students receiving these materials are in 8th grade. Students will be able to write a book that is the culmination of their work as writers at B.G. Middle School.
