Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are lucky to have a vibrant, diverse community of newcomer students with new students joining our community all the time from all over the world! Especially for our newest students, it can be very challenging to adjust to school, where they do not know anyone and they are just beginning to learn English.

Help our recent immigrant students build friendships and find a sense of belonging and identity through art.

Friendships can blossom across language and culture through shared art. With these collage craft project and bracelet making supplies, even our newest students will feel more connected to school and cared for by their peers.

These supplies will allow students to make art together during lunch and in smaller therapeutic groups, even when they don't share a common language or background. Students are more able to learn and connect when they feel like they belong at our school, and I love facilitating activities to help bring people together.
